The Noble Nature

고귀한 자연

 

It is not growing like a tree
In bulk, doth make man better be

보다 나은 사람 되는 것은
나무가 크게만 자라는 것과는 다르다.

Or standing long an oak, three hundred year
To fall a log at last, dry, bald, and sear
참나무가 3백년 동안이나 오래 서있다가
결국 잎도 못피우고 마른 통나무로 쓰러지기보다

A lily of a day
Is fairer far in May,
하루만 피었다 지는
5월의 백합이 훨씬 아름답다.

Although it fall and die that night,
It was the plant and flower of Light.
비롯 밤새 시들어 죽는다 해도
그것은 빛의 화초요 꽃이었으니

In small proportions we just beauties see
And in short measures life may perfect be
작으면 작은대로의 아름다움을 보고
삶을 짧게 나눠보면 완벽할수 있는것을
